Bailey always loved to draw. Around age 10, she started creating portraits for family and friends. Selling art became a part of her life as she produced more work, and Bailey had sold a number of pieces by the time she was a teenager. She took private lessons with a local artist exploring watercolour, oil painting, traditional sketching techniques and more.
As she grew up commission work continued, but Bailey didn’t consider a profession as a self-employed artist. However, the more she created, the more necessary it felt for her sanity. “Creating has helped me cope with challenges and become a better problem solver. It also gave me confidence when I couldn’t see it for myself.” — Bailey
With a focus on creating, uplifting and inspiring, Hanson's artworks have been exhibited at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre and Isaac’s Way, raising funds helping underprivileged children take lessons in the arts. She completed two residencies with the Fredericton Arts Alliance and won Art Battle Fredericton in 2024.
Layered with vibrant elements portraying a dream-like realm, Bailey’s work can be described as abstract realism. She enjoys balancing soft, light, romantic atmospheres with rich contrast and colour. On her journey to share the beauty she sees through art, Bailey invites viewers to imagine themselves in the worlds she creates.
Bailey is a 24 year old visual artist from the maritimes who has been selling her portraits for 14 years. Aside from creating, Bailey is also an art instructor. She teaches private lessons and has guided paint and sip events, leisure learning courses at UNB, as well as after school art classes with elementary students.
